Bio

Lila Magnin is a dancer, choreographer and music maker based in Belgium, with a personal visual and musical world which she shares on stage and on social media since she was a teenager.

She started dancing at the age of 3 with Bharata Natyam, and started her professional development at age 18 at the Juste Debout School in Paris.

Back in Belgium in 2013, she worked as a dancer for a large variety of projects, as well as self produced her two first songs/videos clips. Lila Magnin continued her training around the world, such as in NYC and LA.

In 2015, she left Belgium to spend a year in Australia where she made a living doing street shows and giving dance workshops.

Magnin has worked as a dancer/performer with a variety of international artists such as Vraja Sundari Keilman for her piece ATMA (Samadhi Dance Company, NL), Pitcho Womba Konga for Slow#3, Mamiwata et Habit (KVS, BEL), Andrew Ondrejcak for Figure Studies (USA), Leslie Mannès for FORCES, Lorena Spindler for Free Dance Escape... As an actress, she has worked on several occasions with the stage director Hussein Ali on his pieces Woman to Woman, Zero Zone et Hamlet (Iraq).

In 2019, Lila Magnin choreographed her first stage piece the #roof is on fire, produced by Mons Arts de la Scène and received a grant from the Dance Commission ( Wallonia-Brussels Commission). 

In 2022 she will be premiering her solo Azad which is coproduced by the KVS.

Lila Magnin est une danseuse, chorégraphe et créatrice de musique basée en Belgique, avec son propre univers visuel et musical qu’elle partage depuis plusieurs années sur scène et les réseaux sociaux.

Elle commence la danse à l’âge de 3 ans avec le Bharata Natyam, et intègre à 18 ans la Juste Debout School à Paris. 

De retour en Belgique, elle travaille en tant que danseuse pour divers projets et sort ses deux premières chansons/clips en auto production.  Elle continue également à se former autour du monde tel qu’à NYC et LA.

En 2015, elle part vivre un an en Australie où elle gagne sa vie en faisant des street shows.

Lila Magnin à travaillé en tant que danseuse/performeuse avec divers artistes internationaux, tels que Vraja Sundari Keilman pour la pièce ATMA (Samadhi Dance Company, NL), Pitcho Womba Konga pour Slow#3, Mamiwata et Habit (KVS, BEL), Andrew Ondrejcak (USA) pour Figure Studies, Leslie Mannès pour FORCES, Lorena Spindler pour Free Dance Escape... En tant que comédienne elle a travaillé à plusieurs reprises pour le metteur en scène Hussein Ali (Iraq) sur ses pièces Woman to Woman, Zero Zone et Hamlet.

En 2018, elle co-chorégraphie et interprète une courte forme (duo) avec Habib Ben Tanfous, et c’est en 2019 qu'elle crée sa première pièce the #roof is on fire, un quatuor masculin produit par Mons Arts de la Scène et soutenue par la Commission de la Danse (Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles).

Elle travaille actuellement sur sa 2ème pièce, Azad un solo coproduit par le KVS.
